Another Win: Northern Cape Prospecting Application on Appeal Withdrawn
Gauteng-based Ntswatswa Investments has withdrawn an application that Protect the West Coast (PTWC) challenged on appeal to prospect for zinc, uranium, rare earth elements, lead and tungsten, near Steinkopf in the Namakwa District Municipality in the Northern Cape. Despite what PTWC contended was missing documentation and specialist studies, the application was granted authorisation by the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR). Ntswatswa have now withdrawn their application, citing the fact the DMPR had granted prospecting rights to another company over the same property as the only reason.
